After years of holding unfulfilling positions in the work force, Maria was inspired by a friend to make a career change. The friend had noticed that Maria spent much of her free time volunteering with children so she encouraged Maria to start her own child care business. With her friend and family’s support, Maria opened Rainforest Family Child Care over a decade ago.

Rainforest Family Child Care is a state-licensed, multi-cultural child care facility committed to providing a high-quality, fun learning environment for children from infancy through preschool.

Maria manages her family-owned child care business with the help of two to three experienced staff members. She and her team are constantly striving to improve their knowledge and stay informed about child care best practices. Each staff member is continually encouraged to take coursework focused on early childhood education. Additionally, Rainforest Family Child Care has recently participated in an elective, year-long program provided by Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS).
